Christmas Baking

#1. Grandma Dee's English Toffee
melt 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 cup H2O, 1/2 cup butter on stove (285' with a candy thermometer or until golden brown and thick). pour onto jelly roll pan and cool in fridge. Mix 1 1/2 cups choc chips and spread on each side (cooling inbetween). Break into pieces. Eat. Enjoy. Floss teeth.
#2 Apple Butter Bars
2 cups oats, 1 cup flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. cinn, 3/4 cup butter, one cup apple butter (or any other jam you like - maybe minus the cinn if you choose different flavor). Mix dry ingredients. Add in butter (easier if melted). In a greased 9" pan pat 1/2 of the batter down. Spread your apple butter. Pat down remaining batter. Bake at 350 for 30-35 min.
#3 Peanut Butter Suprise
ritz crackers, peanut butter, melted choc chips. Make peanut butter & ritz sandwiches. Dip in melted chocolate and freeze. They look pretty and taste so yummy.

Sis, your desserts look gorgeous. My English toffee never looks that good. Do I need to buy a candy thermometer?
